Nordic Sea Hotel and ICEBAR Stockholm

When we were in Helsinki, we tried going to their Ice Bar but was turned away because they had a special event.  They told us that in Stockholm there was a similar Ice Bar, and children were allowed to go. 

I wanted to go to this, but today was cold and rainy, and Karen had hurt herself checking in, and I ended up hanging out with Roger.

Ducks at Ericsson Globe

The Ericsson Globe arena was about a mile from our hotel.  The arena is in a "city walk" type area where there's bars and restauants near the arena.  Before the game, we had dinner at one of the restaurants located inside the arena. By the way, their fast food choices were awful (don't complain, Ducks fans, when eating at Honda).

Our seats were awful. First row normally would be sweet but there was a big gap between our seats and the rink.  Most of the fans moved to other locations (not sure how they found spare seats!), but I stayed.

Day 6: Stockholm

The Ducks left Helsinki and went to Stockholm to play the NY Rangers. We also found a great cafe/ bakery for lunch.

Day 5: game day vs Buffalo

Today was the evening we played the Buffalo Sabres. We had the morning to ourselves, and at 4:00 the Ducks organized a meeting at Henry's Bar to rally up the group. Ducks owners, the Samuelis surprised us with a visit, thanking us for coming out. Then, we all hopped on our bus to the Areena.

The Ducks did not come fully charged and lost 4-1. Perhaps tomorrow the Ducks will do better in Stockholm.

Day 4: Porvoo

We took a half day trip to the medieval town of Porvoo, located about 45 minutes from Helsinki. It's the second oldest city in Finland.  Unfortuantely it was raining, which dampened our visit to this picturesque town.

After the Meet and Greet with Jarri, it was getting late so Karen and I went searching for dinner.

Located just down the block from our hotel, in the Kamppi mall was a little restaurant, Don Corleone. The prices were not bad... €12-€14 for pasta.

The Ducks had a special presentation with former Duck, hockey great Jarri Kurri.

Ducks radio play by play announcer, Steve Carroll interviewed Jarri and Teemu (didn't get his last name), a Finnish media person, and then opened up the floor to the fans.
